Edelweiss alpinum (Leontopodium alpinum). An ornamental perennial plant, ideal for alpine mountains and stony gardens. Height 15-20 cm. Narrow leaves form a rosette. Flowers are white in color, gathered in inflorescences-cortains. The plant is strongly pubescent. An unpretentious culture, it prefers sunny sites with light, dry soils, without stagnant water. Sowing is carried out in February-March. Stratification is necessary to get friendlier sprouts. Seeds are distributed evenly on the soil surface and covered with film or glass. Sprouts appear in 14-20 days. Seedlings are sensitive to overwatering. When seedlings reach a height of 2 cm, they are piked into individual pots. Plants are planted in the open ground after the threat of frosts. They bloom in June of the following year.
