Freesia Super Giant
Freesia Super Giant is a perennial plant. The height of the flower reaches 40 cm, and the flowers themselves, thanks to their appearance and unobtrusive fragrance, managed to be loved not only by gardeners, but also by florists who make wedding bouquets.
The variety can be grown in the open ground, provided that you are in the southern strip. In other cases, it is recommended to grow the flower as a houseplant or in greenhouses - freesia has persistence after cutting.
The flower is heat-loving, prefers bright places and does not require special care. Flowering begins 6-8 months after the appearance of the first sprouts.
Growing
Freesia seed sowing season is at the end of February-beginning of March. The day before planting it is advisable to prepare a pink solution of manganese and soak the planting material in it for a day.
The soil before planting should be moistened, place the seeds in it, and then cover them with a film or glass until the first shoots appear. After the seedlings develop two true leaves, you can proceed with the picking into pots.
Freesia transplanting into the open ground can be engaged in the middle of May. Choose soil with neutral or low acidity, loose and drained.
Care
The flower needs abundant and regular irrigation, especially in the season of flowering and active growth. It is also necessary to spray the plant with water from a sprayer in the evening.
Twice a month the freesia should be fertilized with mineral complexes, and stop fertilizing when the leaves wilt.
