Ampelia lobelia is a graceful plant that blooms profusely all season long. Ideal for decorating hanging baskets and containers. The stems are branched, hanging, 30-35 cm long. Small, 1 cm in diameter, numerous ruby-colored flowers cover the stems during flowering, creating a spectacular cascade. Heat-, light-, moisture-loving and cold-resistant. Blossoms from July until frost. For earlier flowering seeds are sown in February-March in boxes which are covered with glass. Sprouts pick 5-6 pieces together. The seedlings can withstand frosts as low as minus 1-2°C. Pruning is necessary for more bushiness.
